[Online] The War in Ukraine After Two Years: A Talk with Prof. Michael Strmiska

Join Professor Michael Strmiska via Zoom for a discussion on the war in Ukraine, two years after it began. Prof. Strmiska will discuss Russian and Ukrainian perspectives on the war, Russia’s kidnapping of Ukrainian children, sanctions on Russia, Russia’s links with China, Iran, and North Korea, the anxiety of the Baltic States and Poland, and why Americans should care.

Michael Strmiska teaches World History and Asian History at SUNY-Orange (Orange County Community College) in Middletown, New York, including classes on Russian and Eastern European History. He has been awarded two Fulbright Fellowships for teaching at universities in Lithuania and Latvia. He visited Lithuania in January of this year and had many discussions with colleagues about the situation in Ukraine.
