[ONLINE] Movie in Focus: Film Discussion Group (The Witch)

Monday, October 2511:00 AM—12:00 PMZoom

Until the day comes when we can enjoy films together again on the library’s big screen, we’re hosting a monthly virtual film group. View our movie of the month (free on Kanopy or Hoopla) and we’ll meet to discuss it via Zoom. Bring your impressions and opinions. Virginia Munro will choose the films and facilitate the group.

This month’s film, The Witch (UK, 2016), is part folktale, part fairytale, and completely frightening. A horror film that generates dread and foreboding rather than screams, The Witch is rich in detail and atmosphere. Set in 1630’s New England, the talents of director and screenwriter Robert Eggers and his cast keep the menace festering up to the terrifying climax. The film is available to screen for free on Kanopy with your library card.

The Zoom link for this program will open half an hour before the program's start time, so come in a little early, set up your devices, get comfortable, and turn your mic and video off until you are invited to turn them on again. This program will not be recorded.

Registration for this event has now closed.
