[ONLINE] Movie in Focus: Film Discussion Group (Woman at War)

Monday, February 2111:00 AM—12:00 PMZoom

Until the day comes when we can enjoy films together again on the library’s big screen, we’re hosting a monthly virtual film group. View our movie of the month (free on Kanopy or Hoopla) on your own and we’ll meet to discuss it via Zoom. Bring your impressions and opinions. Programs coordinator Virginia Munro will choose the films and facilitate the group.

Original and well played, this month’s film, Woman at War (Iceland, 2018), has a serious environmental message as well as quirky humor, both handled with the deft hand of director Benedikt Erlingsson. Starring Halldóra Geirharðsdóttir as a beloved teacher with a double life and… well, you’ll just have to watch it, since any synopsis of this Cannes Festival winner will be riddled with spoilers. Stream the film for free and at your leisure on Kanopy, and join us for the Zoom discussion.

The Zoom link for this program will open half an hour before the program's start time, so come in a little early, set up your devices, get comfortable, and turn your mic off until you are invited to turn it on again. This program will not be recorded.

Registration for this event has now closed.
