Thursday, April 256:00—8:00 PMEdgartown Free Public LibraryEdgartown Free Public Library26 West Tisbury Road, Edgartown, MA, 02539

In April, join us at the library for an enchanting taste of contemporary French cinema. These three magical films explore themes of memory, the complexities of family bonds, and the profound connections between generations. Dessert and light refreshments will be served.

This bewitching period fable follows the story of Juliette, a girl raised by her father in rural Normandy in the years after World War I. Dreaming of greater possibilities, Juliette seeks refuge in the nearby woods, where she meets a witch who promises scarlet sails will one day take her away from her village. She is soon swept away by a rakish young pilot who literally falls from the sky. Delicately weaving together history and folklore, Scarlet is a timeless story of a young woman’s emancipation.
