Thursday, May 166:00—8:00 PMEdgartown Free Public LibraryEdgartown Free Public Library26 West Tisbury Road, Edgartown, MA, 02539

In May, we’re celebrating Asian-American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month with four films that showcase the diversity of AAPI stories and experiences. Dessert and light refreshments will be served.

After Mina's Indian family is ousted from their home in Uganda by dictator Idi Amin, they relocate to Mississippi to start a new life. Mina falls for Demetrius, a young African-American carpet cleaner, despite the protestations of their families over their racial difference. The families and their surrounding communities begin to feud, putting pressure on the couple's romance and forcing them to choose between family and love.

This program is generously funded by the Friends of the Edgartown Free Public Library.
