[IN PERSON] Monday Matinees: Smoke Signals (1999, USA)

Monday, November 73:00—5:00 PMEdgartown Free Public LibraryEdgartown Free Public Library26 West Tisbury Road, Edgartown, MA, 02539

In celebration of National Native American Heritage month, we will be showing several films that were not only created by Indigenous people, but also highlight their experiences. These films explore aspects of American culture and identity that have been influenced by Native Americans. No registration required.

Though Victor and Thomas have lived their entire lives in the same tiny town, they couldn’t have less in common. But when Victor is urgently called away, it’s Thomas who comes up with the money to pay for his trip. There’s just one thing Victor has to do: take Thomas along for the ride. Smoke Signals was the first full-length film written, directed, and produced by Native Americans to reach a wide audience.

This program has been sponsored by the Friends of the Edgartown Free Public Library.
