In honor of Black History Month, we will be showing films that highlight the black experience in America as told by African-American directors and screenwriters.

In this powerful and thought-provoking true story, recent Harvard graduate Bryan Stevenson decides to pass on lucrative career opportunities to instead defend wrongly accused death row inmates in Alabama. Both he and his defendants face unabashed racism as they attempt to navigate a legal and political labyrinth.

This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Edgartown Free Public Library.
