Cellist Eunghee Cho and pianist Jung-a Bang return to Martha's Vineyard alongside violinist Zenas Hsu, who made his MVCMS debut virtually in March 2021. The trio will perform works by Paul Schoenfield, Mel Bonis, and Felix Mendelssohn. Adopting the pseudonym Mel Bonis, French late-romantic composer Melanie Bonis composed a pair of works, Soir (Evening) et Matin (Morning), that so beautifully evoke the atmospheres that we experience before and after we go to sleep. Paul Schoenfield's Café Music combines classical, folk, and Broadway styles into a piano trio gem that combines accessibility, creativity, and virtuosity on the concert stage. Felix Mendelssohn's C minor piano trio has been long revered as one of the great works of art. The trio is a cathartic journey from brooding anxiety to glorious triumph.
