Film Night - Women's History Month: "The Woman King" (2022)

Thursday, March 76:00—8:00 PMEdgartown Free Public LibraryEdgartown Free Public Library26 West Tisbury Road, Edgartown, MA, 02539

March is Women’s History Month, and to celebrate, we’ll be showing four films that highlight the experiences of women throughout history. Dessert and light refreshments will be served.

This powerful and action-packed film is inspired by the true story of the Agojie, the all-female army unit who band together to defend the Dahomey kingdom of West Africa from abduction by slavers in the 1800s. Viola Davis shines brilliantly in the title role as the general who leads her warriors to victory.
