Tripp will discuss how she used biographies, historical accounts, archives, and photographs to construct a complex, nuanced portrait of a woman we think we all know, grounding her character not in famous images, but in her passion for books, her family, her spirit of adventure, and fierce intellect. Tripp tells the story of a woman who forged a legacy out of grief, shaping history even as she lived it.
